- When shots are heard, or shooter is encountered try to run to escape, hide and as a last resort fight.
- Call 911 if safe.
- Run – attempt to evacuate, evacuate others whether they agree to or not, leave belongings behind, help others escape, prevent others from entering the area, call 911 when you are safe.
- Hide – silence cell phones, lock and/or blockade door, hide behind large object, remain quiet, stay out of shooter’s view.
- Fight – only as a last resort, improvise weapons, commit to action, act with physical aggression, incapacitate shooter.
- Police – stay calm, keep hands visible, don’t point or yell, follow police direction.
- When safe, notify building office managers of the incident.
